So, we actually have two different offerings here of the etrailer tow bars. We have these standard duty edition, and we have the heavy duty, the XHD Tow Bar that we have here. Now, with the XHD, we're gonna get obviously a little bit higher capacity. This particular one here is gonna be rated for 10,500 pounds. Which is gonna be quite a bit here for our Cherokee, but it's gonna give us more margin for error. more

Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the etrailer.com SD tow bar here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator.Our tow bar, what it essentially does is it's going to be the physical connection between our towed vehicle and our motorhome while we're driving down the road. As you can see here, we have two connections to the vehicle, in particular, our base plates, one on either side, and then we have our connection to the motorhome here, which is via the shank inside the receiver tube opening on our trailer hitch. Our tow bar is an important part of our flat tow setup because, as we just went over, it's going to be the physical connection between our towed vehicle and our motorhome. So it's very important that you get a good quality product, which is what we have here in the etrailer SD tow bar.One of the notable features about this particular tow bar, which really sets it apart from its competitors such as Blue Ox and Roadmaster, is that the arms that actually get inserted into the base plate kit, those are going to be physically installed on our tow bar. more

The SD tow bar's available in various different kits to make sure that they'll attach to the base plate that you've got installed. We're currently using the kit that has ends for etrailer or Dempco base plates, but we also have kits available that will attach to Valley or Reese base plates, Blue Ox or Curt base plates, Roadmaster base plates, there are two different kits for the crossbar style or the direct connect style, as well as Duncan base plates. You'll want to make sure you get the appropriate kit with the ends that will attach to the base plate you're installing on your vehicle. Well, we've got our tow bar here in the storage position. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar. So there's going to be a total of five main components needed to flat tow your Jeep down the road. First, one's going to be your base plate. The base plate is going to provide us with a solid and reliable connection point, that way we have something to hook up our tow bar to.The tow bar is going to be that second component. That's actually going to be the link that hooks up to your base plate, to the back of your motor home, and this is actually going to physically pull your Jeep down the road. more

Today on your 2020 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox's Ascent Tow Bar.There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle. You'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. You'll also need your base plate, which provides the connection point on your vehicle for your tow bar to attach to. You'll need your diode wiring, which will take all the lighting signals from your motor home, transfer them to your vehicle and illuminate the lights at the back of the vehicle so people know your intentions when going down the road.And last, you'll need your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in our vehicle when we hit the brakes in our motor home to help us come to a safe stop. more

So we just wanted to take the time to ask him a few questions about why he chose this setup particularly and what he wants to be doing with his motor home. So what is the reason why you chose this tow bar and this tow setup It's rated for 7,500 pounds, which is a little bit more in case I had a different tow vehicle or a bigger one. Now, in our particular case, since our Jeep has a aftermarket bumper with D-Rings, we're actually able to just use adapters on the end of our tow bar, and the bumper itself acts as a base plate. That base plate is going to provide us with a reliable connection point to hook the tow bar to. more
